In the UK there are three types of radio amateur licences. Each one gives a different level of privileges and requires tests at a different level to be passed. The entry point for all newcomers into the hobby is via the
Foundation licence, progressing on to Intermediate, culminating in the
advanced exam for a full licence. Each licence level has to be achieved before the next can be taken.

Details of our next Foundation Course are as
follows:-
Monday 2nd April Practical. Starts 7 for 7.30pm until 10pm.
This includes operating on HF and VHF, tuning an aerial
and Morse Appreciation (you don’t have to learn Morse)
Saturday 7th April All day Training/Exam Starts 9.00 for 9.30am, with a lunch break of about one
hour. Finish around 4pm. The exam of 45 minutes duration starts
around 4pm.
