VHF NFD
2 July 2011

Excellent weather, operating from great site just 3 meters below the highest point of the Hog's Back near Guildford in Surrey made this a very enjoyable event.

The equipment performed flawlessly after G4OQZ ably repaired a faulty feeder.  It's not an easy task using a gas soldering iron at the top of a hill in the wind!

We operated as G4FRS/P on 6 meters running 100w to a 6 element beam.  On  2 meters our call sign was G6FRS/P running 100W to a 9 element beam.

6M results

Best DX was SV2JAO/P a path distance of 2103km.

Countries worked included Greece, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Spain and Belgium.
Total score claimed is 12783

 2M results

Our best DX was GM3UCI with a path distance of 543km.

Countries worked included Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, England, Scotland and Wales. One of our newly licensed members Laura M6WIA worked a string of 3 French stations virtually as soon as she picked up the microphone!
Total claimed score is 13924

Our object was to have fun and we certainly did that but we also obtained some very respectable results especially considering we only operated for 5 hours.

Many thanks to Nev G4SPD for organizing the event and to all who helped.
