This is our forth successful year of Amateur Radio Exam courses, covering Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced subjects.
 |
Our first foundation course of the year

7 candidates passed with good to excellent marks, thanks to
excellent coaching / teaching and efforts of the students. |
Farnborough and
District Radio Society's successful end to 2010
| On the 4th of December 3 Cadets

taking the Intermediate Exam. All passed achieving some of the highest

F&DRS,
working together with 13 Cadets from 1075 (Camberley) Sqn Air
Training Corps. (CO Matt Partridge), ran a Foundation Course.
The Lead instructor was Julian M0XPJ, Invigilator Colin G8BCO,
with significant support from the Farnborough club members.
On the 20th of November the Cadets and one Civilian Instructor
from the ATC sat the Foundation exam. Ten obtained very high pass
marks.
Planning for 2011 is well underway with 4 candidates looking to
take their Foundation exam in January and some 20+ Air Cadets keen to
follow the first group early in the coming year.

The Amateur Radio Foundation course is recognised by the Air
Training Corps as an official module in their detailed Communicator
Badge training. 1075 Squadron (Camberley) is using the Foundation Exam
as a means of demonstrating operational proficiency and technical
competence. They have a comms and radio room at their HQ with HF
capability, so look out for them in competitions. F&DRS see this association as a means of
generating future active local hams.
Farnborough and
District Radio Society exam success Sept 2010
