NFD 7/8 June 2008

NFD was great fun and enjoyed by all those who took part.

Operation was from a new location just below the crest of the Hogs Back.  Much quieter as we were further from the road than our nearby VHF site, where our Backpackers operated of Sunday.  Using a lorry battery for power meant we did not have a noisy generator running either

We entered the QRP (10W) 12 hour section using an Elecraft K2 + hand-key  and a Shortened 132 ft ''Windom'' coax-fed Antenna

Operators were G3HEJ, G3OFA, G4BJQ and M3OSP

Greatly appreciated was lots of help & great interest from Club's newer members

Our thanks to all those who organised the event, provided the equipment, food and logistics that made this contest so enjoyable..
